Martin Ferret, who builds ChatExhibits, smiling in front of a bookcase

About

Hi, I’m Martin.

I have been where you probably are. In a dispute of my own, my WhatsApp conversations had to become something a lawyer could actually use, and screenshots were not it. Turning them into a clean, paginated, verifiable document is what helped me, and it is the only thing ChatExhibits does.

Since then I have spent my time on one subject: how a chat export is built, where it breaks, and what a document needs so that nobody can question where it came from. When you write, by email or on WhatsApp, I am the one who answers.

How I work

Three things I will not trade away

  • Your conversation stays with you

It is read inside your browser and never sent to me. I have never seen a customer’s messages, and if anybody asked me for them I would have nothing to hand over.

  • Every word stays as it was written

No AI rewrites a message. The same export always gives the same document, page for page, so a number cited today still points to the same page next month.

  • I say what it does not do

ChatExhibits makes a document. It does not replace your attorney, and it never claims that a court will accept anything: that remains the judge’s decision.

Who opens it

Real situations, usually difficult ones

Most people arrive here in the middle of something hard. The tool should be the easy part.

Write to me

A question before you start?

About an export that will not open, a tier, an invoice or anything else. I usually answer within the day, French time.

How to export from WhatsApp
Where to find it on this phone

iPhone

  1. In WhatsApp, open the chat and tap the contact or group name.
  2. Tap Export Chat, choose Attach Media, then Save to Files.
  3. Come back here, tap Choose your export, and pick it in Files.

Android

  1. In WhatsApp, open the chat, tap the three dots, More, then Export chat.
  2. Choose Include media, then save it to your phone (Files or Downloads).
  3. Come back here, tap Choose your export, and pick it.

Everything works on this phone, and the document is made right here. Only voice note transcription needs a computer.
